Serving on a Board of Nursing

Abstract: What is it like to serve on a State Board of Nursing (BON)? How does one deal with the weight of the responsibility, the discomfort of inexperience in the role, and integrate personal faith with the professional expectations of administering justice and discipline? The author defines the patients cared for in the BON role and the balance of discipline with care for nurses.
