Service Discovery and Selection Based on Dynamic QoS in the Internet of Things

Abstract: Web services are self-describing and self-contained modular applications based on the network. With the deepening of web service applications, service consumers have gradually increased their requirements for service functions and service quality. Aiming at how to select the optimal plan from a large number of execution plans with the same function and different QoS characteristics, this paper proposes a web service selection algorithm that supports QoS global optimization and dynamic replanning. The algorithm… Show more

“…This study presents illustrations of message body structure for different delivery patterns, highlighting the incorporation of new services with a limited understanding of meaning. The paper [67] introduces a web service selection method specifically developed to facilitate the worldwide optimization of Quality of Service (QoS) and dynamic replanning. This algorithm utilizes location matrix coding and integrates user feedback to improve the precision of service selection.…”

“…Several works, including those by Tran et al (2018Tran et al ( , 2019 [23,24], propose leveraging natural order by employing ranking mechanisms similar to PageRank or using quality of service (QoS) metrics. Recent advancements like Zhang et al's (2021) work [25] explore genetic algorithms for dynamic QoS-based service discovery and selection, demonstrating promising approaches for optimizing search within the dynamic nature of the WoT.…”

“…Thus, in [18], it is proposed to use an improved version of the algorithm of optimization of colonies of flying ants to solve the problem of selecting services according to their quality indicators. A special algorithm of global optimization and dynamic redevelopment is proposed in [19] to solve the problem of choosing the optimal plan for performing a function on a set of services with different quality indicators. However, in paper [19], there is no analysis of completeness of performing the function by various services.…”
