Serum Cytokine of Il-2, Il-10 and Il-12 Levels in Patients With Stomach Adenocarcinoma

Abstract: BACKGROUND: Gastric adenocarcinoma is the fourth most common cause of cancer-associated death worldwide. OBJECTIVE: We evaluated the immunological status of patients with gastric cancer before surgery and circulating cytokines as potential diagnostic biomarkers for gastric cancer. METHODS: We included 90 healthy controls and 95 patients with distal Gastric adenocarcinoma in Mazandaran, Sari, Iran. We measured serum IL-2, IL-10 and IL-12 Levels by a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay using the IBL … Show more

“…Controversial results have been reported where IL-4 and IL-10 either support or hinder tumor progression [63, 64]. In fact, it has been indicated that a lack of Il-10 allows induction of pro-inflammatory cytokines hampering anti-tumor immunity [65], and that an increased level might be used as diagnostic biomarker in certain cancer such as stomach adenocarcinoma [66]. Tanikawa et al; have shown that a lack of IL-10 promotes tumor development, growth and metastases [63].…”

“…This assay was shown to have a very wide applicability for measuring survival and/ or proliferation of various cells and can potentially be applied to any assay in which living cells must be distinguished from dead cells or a lack of cells. Besides, it showed the potential value for quantitative and rapid measurement of cell death (7)(8)(9) . Moreover, we used micronucleus assay to assess genetic damage of aripiprazole in human peripheral blood lymphocytes.…”
