“…From the studies of Atal et al [1970], Blake et al (1971 ] and McDermid [1971], it is known that slow-moving serum albumin variants are also present in Indian popula tions. Weitkamp et al [1973] could demon strate that they are most likely identical with the so-called "Afghanistan variant', reported by Weitkamp and Buck [1972], Analysing the serum samples from three South Indian tribal populations [Walter et al, in prepa ration] -Lambadis, Koyas, and Konda Kammaras -for several serum protein poly morphisms, we found 4 cases of a most like ly new albumin variant.…”
