Serotonin: an overlooked regulator of endocytosis and endosomal sorting?

Abstract: Serotonin is a neurotransmitter and a hormone that is typically associated with regulating our mood. However, the serotonin transporter and receptors are expressed throughout the body, highlighting the much broader, systemic role of serotonin in regulating human physiology.
