Series DC Arc Simulation of Photovoltaic System Based on Habedank Model

Abstract: Despite the rapid development of photovoltaic (PV) industry, direct current (DC) fault arc remains a major threat to the safety of PV system and personnel. While extensive research on DC fault arc has been conducted, little attention has been paid to the long-time interactions between the PV system and DC arc. In this paper, a simulation system with an arc model and PV system model is built to overcome the inconvenience of the fault-arc experiments and understand the mechanism of these interactions. For this p… Show more

“…The important thing behind the support vector machine part is the creation of hyperplane having the highest margin that is available in between two classes adjacent to each other. This is helpful for bounding the error which is generalized for the case of model [36]. Heuristic search method used for investigating approximate value.…”

“…The traditional method relies on manual judgement. [15][16][17][18] The laser-displacement-sensor based detection algorithms have strong anti-interference ability, high accuracy, but high cost. [19][20][21] Image processing used for contact strip monitoring has been a research hotspot in recent years.…”

“…These environmental factors lead to the insulation being declined or the cable connection loosened, which make it easier to cause arc faults. The arc discharge is also an erratic phenomenon affected by different power electronic loads and controllers [2]. Different environment makes these arc faults hard to reproduce during the maintenance after the aircraft has landed [3].…”

“…For the DC arc detection, the parallel and ground arcs cause large load current surges, which can be more easily detected by the overcurrent protection. It is more difficult to detect series arcs since it decreases the load current [2]; there remains to be this lack in the methods to obtain high-accuracy arc fault detection and diagnosis for series DC arc faults in aircrafts.…”
