Sequences and sequence pairs with imaginary correlation sidelobes

Abstract: SUMMARYTime-discrete signals with good correlation properties are used in various applications in communications engineering. In this paper, the construction of quadriphase and 8-phase sequences and sequence pairs with purely imaginary aperiodic, periodic and odd-periodic correlation sidelobes is discussed. Using coherent detection, these imaginary sequences show perfect correlation properties if only the real part of the correlation function is used.
