Septic Arthritis due to Absidia corymbifera in a Patient with HIV-1 Infection

Abstract: We report the first case described of septic arthritis caused by Absidia corymbifera in the setting of cellular immune deficiency associated with HIV-1 infection. Isolation of this organism from sterile fluids as synovial fluid should be regarded as pathogenic.
