Seonamhaeicola aphaedonensis gen. nov., sp. nov., a member of the family Flavobacteriaceae isolated from a tidal flat sediment

Abstract: A Gram-stain-negative, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterial strain, AH-M5T, which was isolated from a tidal flat sediment at Aphae Island in South Korea, was characterized taxonomically. Strain AH-M5T grew optimally at 25 °C, at pH 7.0–8.0 and in presence of 2.0 % (w/v) NaCl. Phylogenetic trees based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain AH-M5T clustered coherently with the type strains of Mangrovimonas yunxiaonensis … Show more

“…S1). The polar lipid profile of strain Gy8 T distinguished it from S. aphaedonensis AH-M5 T and J. pallidilutea EM39 T by having three additional unknown lipids and by the absence of glycolipid (Park et al, 2013(Park et al, , 2014). However, the major polar lipids of strain Gy8…”

“…Members of family Flavobacteriaceae (Jooste 1985) within the phylum Bacteroidetes (Garrity and Holt 2001) have been isolated and identified from many diverse marine environments and marine organisms (Kirchman 2002;O'Sullivan et al 2006;Alonso et al 2007;Zeng et al 2013). The genus Seonamhaeicola, a marine member of the family Flavobacteriaceae, was first proposed by Park et al (2014). Recently, the description of the genus has been amended (Zhou et al 2016).…”
