Sensory profile of eleven peach cultivars

Abstract: The goal of this study was to evaluate the sensory profile of eleven peach cultivars grown in an experimental orchard located in the city of Lapa (PR, Brazil) in two seasons. The peach cultivars analyzed were Aurora I, Chimarrita, Chiripá, Coral, Eldorado, Granada, Leonense, Maciel, Marli, Premier, and Vanguarda. The sensory analysis was performed by previously trained panelists; 20 of them in the first season and 10 in the second season. The sensory evaluation was performed using Quantitative Descriptive Anal… Show more

“…Comparisons of means, made by Tukey test, are presented in Table 2. Papayas produced under PRD with alternating frequency of 14 days (T2) were firmer than those produced under full irrigation (T5), but did not differ with respect to soluble solids content, fresh mass and central cavity diameter. Firmness is an important quality attribute for both fruit management and consumer acceptance (CUQUEL et al, 2012), providing greater transport resistance and longer shelf life, as the firmer the fruit at harvest, the greater its susceptibility to mechanical damage and rot.…”

“…Appearance, aroma, flavour, texture and overall impression were evaluated using a 9-point hedonic scale with a minimum of 1 (extremely disliked) and a maximum of 9 (extremely liked). 29,30 Microbiological analyses on packaged lettuce were conducted considering the evolution as function of the time of total mesophilic aerobic count (TBC) (UNI EN ISO 4833-1:2013), 31 moulds and yeast (ISO 21527-1:2008), 32 lactic bacteria (ISO 15214:1998) 33 Coliforms total count were enumerated on violet red bile agar (ISO 4832:2006) and incubated at 37 C for 24 h. Microbiological values, as the average of three replicates, are reported in log (CFU/g). Statistical analyses were conducted using OriginLab software.…”
