Sensor Configuration and Algorithms for Power-Line Interference Suppression in Low Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

Abstract: Low field (LF) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) shows potential advantages to study pure heteronuclear J-coupling and observe the fine structure of matter. Power-line harmonics interferences and fixed-frequency noise peaks might introduce discrete noise peaks into the LF-NMR spectrum in an open environment or in a conductively shielded room, which might disturb J-coupling spectra of matter recorded at LF. In this paper, we describe a multi-channel sensor configuration of superconducting quantum interference de… Show more

“…Meanwhile, ultra-low field (ULF) NMR (typical static field less than 250 μT) can realize a two-fold increase of relaxivity of Gd 3+ -based complexes compared to that measured at 1.5 T,[ 22 ] which could be beneficial for the biomarker detection. Besides, ULF NMR exhibits a series of advantages including pure heteronuclear J-coupling detection,[ 23 , 24 ] wide bandwidth for simultaneous detection of several different nuclei,[ 25 , 26 ] low cost,[ 27 , 28 ] and portability. Therefore, it has got particular attention to serve as a complementary supplement to high field NMR.…”

“…On the other hand, they are very sensitive to electromagnetic fields, which can lead to the coupling of unwanted signals such as the electrical network. The elimination of these undesirable frequency couplings is solvable by filtering software techniques [ 20 , 21 , 22 ].…”
