Sensor Architecture for Mobile Construction Robot

Abstract: The operation of a semi-autonomous self-guiding mobile construction robot under real building construction environment, is heavily relied on a sensor based intelligent hierarchical control system. A multi-sensor architecture consists of variery of sensor types and technologies is proposed. The architecture is designed to meet both the operational as well as the mission specific sensing requirements. Because of volume limitations, data processing issues are not covered in this paper.
