Sensitivity analysis of criteria to optimize wind farm localizing: A case study

Abstract: The objective of this study was to perform a sensitivity analysis on the factors affecting wind site localization. A case study is selected based on 13 cities in the province of Fars in Iran which is equally applicable in any other wind sites. Then, the cities are ranked using the dual form of the data envelopment analysis model. Next, six criteria are adopted including wind conditions, population, Available Land condition, distance to distribution networks, rate of natural disasters, and the cost of land. In … Show more

“…Considering unpredictable and intermittent nature of wind, Weibull distribution function has been introduced as one of the best and most practical methods for projecting the amount of wind energy available in an area (Rezaei et al, 2019a). Necessary data needed for estimating wind energy via this method are temperature, air pressure and wind speed which JEDT 18,6 were acquired from the Renewable Energy Organization of Iran (Satba, 2018).…”

“…Global warming, climate change, ozone layer depletion, and environmental pollution as severe consequences of using fossil fuels have been conspicuous signs of neglecting clean energy carriers and pollution-free means of generating energy, mostly in non-developed countries (Rezaei et al, 2019b). To tackle these issues, all nations should embark on utilizing renewable and ecological methods of producing energy.…”

“…22,23 There have been numerous research works related to wind energy in Iran. Rezaei et al 24 conducted a sensitivity analysis of localizing wind energy in middle parts of Iran. Socioeconomic feasibility of wind power stations to generate hydrogen in Iran was evaluated by Rezaei et al 25 To scrutinize electricity production in a wind farm, a mathematical model was proposed by Qolipour et al 26 Rezaei-Shouroki et al 27 examined and prioritized different cities of Fars province for the purpose of hydrogen production by wind energy.…”
