“…An existing set-up (Volkers et al 2004) designed for time-gated fluorescence spectroscopy of isotopologues of atmospheric interest (Volkers et al 2006) has been modified by implementing a supersonic plasma source. This plasma source has been used previously to study vibrationally excited radicals at low rotational temperatures (Bazalgette Courrèges-Lacoste et al 2001) and consists of a General Valve introducing a gas pulse in a multi-layer discharge geometry.…”

“…The experimental setup has been described in detail recently [22]. The second harmonic of a Nd:YAG laser is used to pump a tunable dye laser covering the frequency regime of 14 300-18 000 cm À1 (rhodamine 6G, sulforhodamine B, DCM, and pyridine 1) with a bandwidth of typically 0.07 cm À1 .…”

“…So far some infrared cell measurements have been reported [18][19][20][21] and spectroscopic observations in the visible range are largely lacking. The present work has been performed with a recently constructed spectroscopic setup optimized for minimal gas consumption, high sensitivity, and high spectral accuracy [22]. In this article more than 250 rovibronic bands of the A 2 B 2 -X 2 A 1 electronic system of 15 NO 2 are reported in the 555-700 nm range.…”

“…The experimental setup has been described in detail recently [21]. The second harmonic of a Nd:YAG laser is used to pump a tunable dye laser covering the energy range of 11 800-14 380 cm À1 using Styryl 9, 8 and 7 dyes with a typical bandwidth of 0.07 cm À1 .…”

“…For the other isotopologues optical information is largely lacking, mainly because of problems related to the high costs involved in studying 15 N-and 18 O-isotopes. For this reason we have recently constructed a spectroscopic setup in which large frequency domains are scanned automatically with high sensitivity and high spectral accuracy at a minimal gas consumption [21]. In this way more than 250 rotationally resolved vibrational bands of the A 2 B 2 -X 2 A 1 electronic transition of the 16 O 15 N 16 O isotopologue have been observed in the 14 300-18 000 cm À1 range [1] and the present study is an extension of this work to the symmetric 18 O 14 N 18 O and asymmetric 16 O 14 N 18 O isotopologues in the 11 800-14 380 cm À1 range.…”
