Serial animasi Upin dan Ipin memberi dampak yang luas biasa bagi masyarakat Malaysia-Indonesia. Salah satu tokoh yang berpengaruh di dalam serial animasi tersebut adalah Jarjit. Jarjit populer karena piawai berpantun ketika berkomunikasi dengan tokoh-tokoh lainnya. Dari fenomena tersebut, tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji pesona pantun Jarjit dan relevansinya pada instrumen diplomasi budaya untuk memperkokoh hubungan Malaysia-Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan konten analisis melalui beberapa tahapan. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah kanal Youtube Les'Copauque sedangkan data penelitian adalah pantun Jarjit dari 45 episode Upin dan Ipin. Temuan penelitian ini adalah pantun Jarjit dalam serial animasi Upin dan Ipin memiliki pesona yang unik ditinjau dari ciri khas pantun Jarjit yang selalu berawal dari dua tiga sebagai sampiran pantunnya, Jarjit yang berasal dari etnis India, jenis pantun karmina, pantun Jarjit sebagai tradisi lisan anak, dan pantun Jarjit sebagai representasi multikulturalisme. Berdasarkan pesona pantun Jarjit tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa pantun Jarjit merupakan instrumen diplomasi budaya yang dapat memperkokoh hubungan Malaysia-Indonesia. The work is anchored in the paradigm of media linguistics and discourse linguistics, which draw inspiration from cognitive research on language use in the media, semiotic studies, and culture studies. This article is of an empirical nature, as it presents the results of an analysis of selected specific opinion magazine covers. Basing on the selected covers, it aims to characterize the multimodal practices of empathy and fear used in the migration discourse in Poland during the years 2015-2017. This will provide insight into the ways collective knowledge formations are activated by different actors in different media in order to evoke an empathetic attitude or an attitude of fear towards refugees. The analytical corpus consists of 36 covers from ten weekly magazines with high sales rates in Poland. We use the model of multimodal text analysis and the main focus of our analysis is to show the essence of multimodal practices, which, based on specific topoi, activated individually or in combination with others, intend to evoke an attitude of empathy or fear in the recipient. In the case of multimodal practices of empathy and fear, the process of multimodal integration should be considered important as it played the role of a keystone between the verbal and visual layers, and these were the carriers of specific topoi. Multimodal integration determines the process of topoi overlapping, and thus conditions the process of creating specific meanings, which, as previously mentioned, are of persuasive character. Both codes explain each other and specify and illustrate each other by implementing the elaboration pattern.

This study specifically aims to examine the philosophical meaning and educational values contained in the Serat Sari Swara by Ki Hajar Dewantara (KHD). Serat Sari Swara is an old literary work (1930) written directly by KHD using Javanese script and in Javanese poetry/tembang type. Studying old literary works is crucial, considering that many moral teachings and educational values are implicit. Based on the format and character, this descriptive qualitative research used an interactive model of data analysis method, with a literary interpretive perspective content analysis method. The primary data sources of this research came from the Serat Sari Swara script and the results of interviews with informants. The research findings revealed the philosophical meanings and values of the five Serat Sari Swara poetry as follows. Based on data analysis on the philosophical meaning and educational values of Serat Sari Swara, it can be summarized as follows. 1) Sekar Gula Ganthi contains philosophical and educational values of religious education and the value of discipline education (discipline in carrying out its duties, hard work and responsibility to carry out the task of completing the mission it carries). 2) Langen Siswa contains philosophical meanings and the value of character education of thank God and value togetherness and solidarity. 3) Tembang Puji Santosa has philosophical and educational values of obey the teacher, students must be serious if they study, everything must be carried out sincerely, do not like to be sad, do not be lazy, always be grateful, 4) Tembang Ima-Ima contains the educational value of decency and politeness in an association. 5) Sekar Ageng Salyarini contains the philosophical meaning of nationalist spirit and willing to sacrifice. The results of this study will later be developed into a textbook material for children's literature appreciation for the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program.
