A novel multi-band clover leaf shaped fractal antenna with integrated filtering to reduce higher order harmonics has been proposed. Existing microstrip filtering antennas endure limited gain, narrow impedance bandwidth, and undesired frequency radiations. The proposed antenna is designated to operate simultaneously in following operating bands: 3.35–3.6 GHz for WiMAX, 5.156–5.825 GHz for WLAN, 5.7–6.4 GHz for Intelligent Transport Systems-ITS, and 7.7–8.5 GHz for ITU-R applications. The proposed patch is realized by combining two semi fractal ring microstrip patches like the geometry of a three-leaf clover with dual layered Stepped Impedance Resonator(SIR) integrated at bottom layer of the second substrate. The SIR band pass filter exhibits odd and even modes suppresses higher order harmonics and undesired radiations. An aperture coupled feeding in the proposed patch offers better bandwidth and impedance matching. The number of iterations is increased to get the desired multiband characteristics. The proposed microstrip fractal antenna has the geometrical dimensions of 50 × 50 × 2 mm3. It is observed that, both the simulated and measured results offers peak gain of > 5dBi and better return loss (S11) i.e., 3.3–3.6 GHz band offers S11 of -33.73dB, (5.15-5.825) GHz band offers S11 of -36.69dB, (5.795-6.4) GHz band shows the S11 of -36.25 dB and for (7.725-8.5) GHz, the return loss is -33.209 dB. Harmonics at 6.42GHz (1.8f0), 7.37GHz (1.5f0) and 9.04GHz(1.73f0) has been suppressed and shows linear polarization in the WLAN band and circular polarization in the ITU-R and WiMAX bands.

Abstract-This paper describes a compact triple-band monopole antenna based on Open Complementary Split Ring Resonators (OCSRRs) for Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and Worldwide interoperability Microwave Access (WiMAX) applications. The monopole antenna with engraved ground plane is used to cover WLAN frequencies (2.67 GHz and 5.47 GHz). The resonant frequency of WiMAX (3.43 GHz) is achieved by introducing OCSRR in the monopole antenna. In order to achieve multiband and good impedance matching, OCSRRs are introduced in the rectangular monopole antenna. The prototype antenna is fabricated on an FR-4 substrate having dimension of 29.4 × 26 × 1.6 mm 3 . Simulated and measured results are shown in good equivalence. The dipole radiation pattern is obtained in the elevation plane (E-plane), and omnidirectional radiation pattern is obtained in the azimuthal plane (H-plane). Parametric analysis of OCSRRs is studied to attain the best results. The proposed antenna has adequate advantages, including compact size, multiband, and impedance matching.

In this paper, a solid co-planar waveguide-fed fractal metamaterial antenna is offered. The proposed design consists of Sierpinski gasket iterations and a complementary triangular split ring resonator (CTSRR) loaded underneath the substrate, which is accountable for pull off multiband uniqueness and resolve good impedance identical. In sketch to hassle multiresonant frequency band facet, these CTSRR are entrenched reverse side of the substrate. The anticipated antenna with a dense dimension of 12 × 14 × 1.6 mm3 is fabricated and tested. The testing result designates that the projected design has −10 dB of 5.72, 14.3, and 16.06 GHz, respectively, and covers 5.72 GHz wireless local area network, 14.3 GHz fixed satellite, and 16.06 GHz International Telecommunication Union (ITU) band. It has fine emission uniqueness for jointly E-plane and H-plane in all the preferred occurrence bands and produce superior performance compared with the offered antenna intend in the prose. The loaded CTSRR construction recital is validated all the way during negative permeability pulling out and assorted parametric study.
