“…Postica et al [45] used a UV light intensity 32 times compared to our work, however the obtained photoresponse was ∼10 times lower, demonstrating lower both rise and decay times. Similar results were demonstrated with other metal oxide nanowire-based UV sensors: SnO 2 nanowires [50] showed responsivity of 0.36 mA W −1 with a 0.7 rise time, whereas WO 3 nanowires [51] showed responsivity of 462.6 A W −1 with a 2.7 ms rise time.…”

“…Although junctions built in two-dimensional layers have a theoretical surface area smaller than junctions built in one-dimensional or mixed layers, because the size of both the TiO 2 and CuMnO 2 crystallites is very small, both of the contact surfaces at the interfaces between oxides and with O 2 (gas) and O 2 - (ads) increase the effective active area at a level almost similar to other techniques. This higher surface area increases electron hole pairs generation without applying an external current (0 V bias) to the FTO-TiO 2 -CuMnO 2 photodetector [ 1 ]. The higher oxygen absorption–desorption process is facilitated by the crednerite layer due to the small nanosize of the crystals and the relatively rough surface obtained after deposition [ 23 ].…”

“…Self-powered ultraviolet photodetectors (SPVs) have been widely studied lately because they have a great advantage; namely, they do not need any external power sources, can operate continuously and independently and do not require high costs to produce them [ 1 ]. The operating principle of photodetectors (PD) is very well known, being based on the conversion of photon energy into an electrical signal by photogenerated carriers [ 2 , 3 , 4 ].…”

“…However, the Schottky barrier height extracted by fitting with the double Schottky model is about 0.84 eV, which may be caused by the adsorption of oxygen molecules in air and the state of the semiconductor surface. [27,35] In addition, the ideal factor n of the fitting parameter deviates far from 1, indicating that the carrier transport mechanism deviates greatly from the thermal emission model, and the main reason may be the existence of tunneling current in high oxygen defect semiconductor. [36,37] For the lower righthand insert in Fig.…”
