Self-Powered Broadband Photodetectors Material Based on Co3O4–ZnO Heterojunction with Bottlebrush Nanostructure

Abstract: Self-powered broadband photodetectors operating in the ultraviolet−visible window are essential for optical communication, military monitoring, multispectral detection, and environmental monitoring. In this study, a new bottlebrush nanostructure based on the Co 3 O 4 −ZnO PN junction is fabricated as an efficient broadband photodetector capable of operation under zero bias conditions. This photodetector has a reasonable band structure, exhibits improved efficiency of light absorption, and features reduced elec… Show more

“…To better compare the results of the photodetection performance of FVO-based PD obtained in this work with other reports, we define the coordinates of ( R , τ ) to reflect the performances of other solution-processed self-powered all-oxide-based PDs and plot a comparison diagram as shown in Fig. 5(e) 29,31,40,52–54 and the corresponding D * values with references are given in Table S2 (ESI†). In Fig.…”

“…In this paper, we have designed a thinfilm detector made of nanowires, with its schematic structure shown in Figure 1 The detailed preparation process of the Co 3 O 4 /ZnO/ZnO heterojunction film can be referenced from our previously reported studies. 38 Characterization. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energydispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and high-resolution TEM (HRTEM) were utilized to characterize the structural information on the material.…”

“…30 In another approach, the Co 3 O 4 –ZnO core–shell structure was synthesized by hydrothermally fabricating pristine Co 3 O 4 nanowires on an FTO glass substrate at 110 °C for 5 hours and the Co 3 O 4 –ZnO film was obtained by annealing in air at 500 °C for 15 minutes using a muffle furnace. 31 In another study, Markhabayeva et al 32 employed a combination of spin coating and chemical bath deposition, with two annealing stages at each step to synthesize the ZnO/Co 3 O 4 on ITO. In contrast to alternative synthesis methods that involve expensive equipment, high temperatures, and long synthesis time, the Co 3 O 4 /ZnO p–n heterojunction was successfully fabricated using the electrodeposition method.…”
