Self-management of a musculoskeletal condition for people from harder to reach groups: a qualitative patient interview study

“…Most people agreed to try JPA because they wanted help to manage their MSK pain and their needs were not being met. This reflects the evidence that while national health guidance recommends that people living with chronic MSK pain are given support to self-manage, this support is often not provided (Adams et al, 2019;Jordan et al, 2017). This evaluation indicates that JPA is fulfilling this need and is helping people to reduce their pain by encouraging changes in behaviour which support increases in physical activity and weight loss.…”
