“…An analysis of the concentration dependence of the permeability of the erythrocyte membrane for formate molecules (Figure 5) showed a decrease in the p value from ≈3.6 × 10 −6 m/s to ≈3.8 × 10 −7 m/s with an increase in the concentration of the formate solution from 5 to 95 mM Thus, it was shown that the exchange of formate under the conditions of chemical and thermodynamic equilibrium proceeds rapidly, but the concentration dependence of its rate can be studied by using the PFG NMR method. Our team studied the permeability P of the erythrocyte membrane for water molecules and various C60 fullerene derivatives using the 1 H PFG NMR method [33,34]. The latter turned out to be possible for compounds whose signals in the 1 H NMR spectra do not overlap with the signals of the erythrocyte membrane components.…”

“…Below we have discussed the self-diffusion of water molecules, lateral diffusion and self-diffusion of pentasubstituted fullerene derivatives C 60 (with adducts of 3-mercaptopropanesulfonic acid C 60 [S(CH 2 ) 3 SO 3 Na] 5 H ( 1 ), mercaptopropionic acid C 60 [S(CH 2 ) 2 COOK] 5 H ( 2 ), proline C 60 [N(CH 2 ) 3 CHCOOK] 5 Cl ( 3 )) in a RBCs suspensions investigated by PFG NMR [ 171 , 172 , 173 ].…”

“…The study of self-diffusion of fullerene C 60 derivative molecules in a suspension of erythrocytes was carried out [ 172 , 173 ]. Water-soluble fullerene derivatives (WSFD) are promising materials for biomedical research and further pharmacological applications [ 180 , 181 , 182 ].…”
