The article presents the results of studying the connection between Internet addiction and social anxiety and the preferred types of Internet content among adolescents and young people studying in schools and universities. The sample consisted of 72 high school students of a secondary comprehensive school in Moscow aged 15 to 17 years (M=16), including 36 boys and 36 girls, as well as 72 junior students of Moscow universities aged 18 to 20 years old (M=19), of which 36 were boys and 36 were girls. The methodological complex included an Internet Addiction Test (K. Young), the original author's questionnaire of preferred Internet content, Social Avoidance and Distress Scale (SADS, Watson, Friend, 1969), Brief Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale (BFNE, Leary, 1983). It was revealed that the indicators of Internet addiction at the tendency level are higher in adolescents compared to students. Of the three components of social anxiety (social avoidance, social distress and fear of negative social assessment), only the indicator of fear of negative social assessment has a significant positive effect on the growth of indicators of Internet addiction in the combined group of respondents. The preference for content related to communication and self-presentation also has a significant impact on the growth of Internet addiction rates. Being overly concerned with other people's evaluations, seeking their approval, and focusing on self-presentation and social media communication all contribute to Internet addiction (increased time spent on the Internet, loss of control over it, as well as cognitive preoccupation with what is happening on the Internet).

<p>The need to create a questionnaire to study the psychological problems of adolescents in real and virtual environments arose since previously created and available methods in this sphere did not consider the influence of the virtual environment as a factor of socialization. The article reveals the continuity in the development of methodological tools for the study of psychological problems of adolescents and shows the novelty of the new questionnaire. The questionnaire was created and standardized during five consecutive stages (collection of primary empirical material, procedures of linguistic and frequency analysis, assessment of reliability, validity, double factorization, determination of age norms). 566 teenagers aged 13-17 years took part in standardization. The result of this work is a new psychodiagnostic tool that allows to determine the degree of adolescents’ concern with psychological problems, both in real life and in connection with their immersion in the Internet environment.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The issue of suicidal behavior in adolescents is one of the most disturbing and complex. The present work is aimed to draw attention to the problem of suicidal behavior in adolescents in modern Russian reality. While analyzing cases of severe injuries due to suicidal behavior in adolescents who were admitted to the Clinical and Research Institute of Emergency Pediatric Surgery and Trauma (CRIEPST) in Moscow (Russia) , the authors stated their significant increase in recent years . In 2016-2023, 58 children after suicidal attempts were hospitalized to CRIEPST. All children were teenagers (11-17 years old). The authors not only noted an increased risk of suicide in 14-16 age group of teenagers, but they also noted gender features in this group. Two groups of suicide causation were defined as well: psychopathological processes and affective, impulsive reactions. After summarizing findings obtained in CRIEPST , the researchers have stated an increase in the number of psychopathological predispositions in children in the recent years. An increased number of cases with suicidal behavior in adolescents and predominance of psychopathological processes as risk factors should make adults be more attentive to tendencies in suicide causation and their prevention. The data presented in the article are preliminary and incomplete, as they do not cover cases that did not lead to severe somatic consequences.</p>
