“…[14][15] Boc-PhePhe when incorporated into electrospun fibers exhibited strong piezoelectric properties. 16 The peptide Boc-pNPhepNPhe peptide was reported to self-assemble into nanofibril and nanospheres. 17 In this work we report the self-assembling of two Boc protected analogues of PhePhe dipeptide: Boc-p-nitro-Lphenylalanyl-p-nitro-L-phenylalanine (Boc-pNPhepNPhe) and Boc-L-phenylalanyl-L-tyrosine (Boc-PheTyr) in solutions of 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propanol (HFP) with water or ethanol (0.2/9.8 v/v).…”

“…42,43 for unprecedented levels of new piezoelectric properties. [44][45][46][47] It is important to note that the underlying physics in and related electromechanical coupling mechanisms for such new material systems, which are complex and not fully understood, need to be claried further through more systematic investigations to enhance our understanding in this research eld. 48 Even though there have been a number of reviews on leadfree piezoelectric nanomaterials due to high potentials for future eco-friendly and biocompatible electronic applications, 11,49,50 the understanding and the control of piezoelectric material properties at nanometer-scale are still at a very basic level, with the majority of reports just focusing on overcoming the processing difficulties.…”
