Self-assembly and nonlinear optical properties of (μ-oxo)bis[meso-tetrakis(p-bromophenyl-porphyrinato)iron(iii)]

Abstract: A sandwich-type dimer, namely IJμ-oxo)bisijtetrakisIJp-bromophenyl-porphyrinato)ironIJIII)], ij(TBPP)Fe] 2 O, was prepared under solvothermal conditions and structurally characterized for the first time. Its self-assembly behavior has been comparatively investigated with the monomer ij(TBPP)Fe]Cl by electronic absorption spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) with the help of single crystal analysis. The optical properties of both compounds were studied by an open apert… Show more

“…Incidentally, compound Co II -TIPPr shows also a remarkable electrochemical dioxygen reduction reactivity. 48 Direct halogen-halogen interactions are considerably less pronounced in various derivatives of the tetraIJ4bromophenyl)porphyrin scaffold, e.g., Zn II -TBrPPr, 49 Mg II IJH 2 -O) 2 -TBrPPr 50 and [(TBrPPr)-Fe] 2 O, 51 due to the lower polarizability of the Br-function.…”

“…Reactivity of a series of m-oxo heme dimers toward various nitrogen oxides (e.g., nitric oxide (NO (g) ), dinitrogen tetroxide (N 2 O 4 ), and dinitrogen trioxide (N 2 O 3 )) have also been studied by Fanning, Scheidt and coworkers [72,73] properties and show almost an order of magnitude larger two-photon absorption (TPA) cross-section value than that of the monomer [75].…”

“…( 2 -oxido)-bis(5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrinato)iron(III) with C 70 fullerene (Konarev et al, 2010) and C 60 fullerene (Litvinov et al, 2003(Litvinov et al, , 2004. Other 2 -oxido iron porphyrins include 5,10,15,20-tetra-p-tolylporphyrinato)iron(III) (Li et al, 1999), 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(pentafluoro-phenyl)porphinatoiron(III) (Gold et al, 1988), tetrakis(2,6difluorophenyl)porphyrinato)iron(III) (Karlin et al, 1994), 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-bromophenyl)porphyrinato)iron(III) (Hou et al, 2015) and 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-chlorophenyl)porphyrinato)iron(III) (Jiao et al, 1997). As already noted, an orthorhombic polymorph of the title compound has previously been structurally characterized (Hoffman et al, 1972;Swepston & Ibers, 1985;Kooijmann et al, 2007).…”
