“…Thus, a wavelength-selective intermediate reflector is required to maximize the light-trapping benefits of a textured surface. A large body of work has been published on light-trapping in micromorph Si cells (a thin-film tandem of α-Si:H and µc-Si:H), which are typically deposited onto textured substrates with sub-wavelength features [13][14][15][16][17][18]. Combining a selective intermediate reflector (IR) with these surfaces can provide significant light-trapping in the top cell.…”

“…Combining a selective intermediate reflector (IR) with these surfaces can provide significant light-trapping in the top cell. Various types of IRs have been studied, including 1D, 2D and 3D photonic crystals [15][16][17][18][19] and metallic nanoparticles [14].…”

“…Herein we present a more uniform solution whereby a conducting Bragg reflector composed of alternate layers of SiO 2 nanoparticles and sputtered tin‐doped indium oxide (ITO) is employed as the counter electrode for DSCs. These conducting 1D photonic crystals, referred to as selectively transparent and conducting photonic crystals (STCPCs) can be utilized as intermediate reflectors in micromorph Si solar cells; theoretical studies show that STCPC intermediate reflectors can boost the photocurrent in micromorph cells by more than 20% . Their remarkably high conductivity is the result of the alternating porous silica nanoparticle film being partially infiltrated by the ITO, enabling their use as a replacement for the usual FTO‐glass counter electrode.…”

“…20 They can shield part of UV light and most of NIR light. 25 Due to the vast difference between the refractive index of PVC and Sb 2 O 3 , Sb 2 O 3 particle is eligible for all of the light shielding function. 21 UV326 is one of the UV absorbers, which can absorb UV light and keep high transmittance in visible and infrared light region.…”
