Abstract:Detection and quantification of the cyanide ion (CN À ) has attracted considerable attention because of its extreme toxicity. A novel Zn(II)-complex, applicable as a fluorescent chemosensor for CN À recognition, was synthesized in excellent yields from the reaction of zinc sulfate with the novel hydrazone: 3-(amino-9H-purin-yl)-N 0 -(hydroxybenzylidene) propanehydrazide. The structures of the hydrazone (L) and the zinc-hydrazone complex (L.Zn) were characterized by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry, Fourie… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
