Selection of multiple deferred (dependent) state sampling plans for given acceptable quality level and limiting quality level

Abstract: A table and a procedure are given for finding the multiple deferred (dependent) state sampling plans of type MDS-(cl, cz) involving minimum sum of producer's and consumer's risks for spectjied acceptable quality level and limiting quality level.

“…The traditional control charts are the static charts which utilize only the current status of the process and do not consider the situation of the neighboring inspection results of the process . Govindaraju and Subramani developed MDS sampling plans for the minimum sum of the producer's and the consumer's risks using a specific acceptable quality level and the limiting quality level. Soundararajan and Vijayaraghavan stated that the acceptance or the rejection of the lot is based upon the previous or the future lot.…”

“…Some of the authors studied the MDS sampling plan for both attribute inspection and variables inspection. For the attribute MDS sampling plan, one may refer to Vaerst, 15 Soundararajan and Vijayaraghavan, 16 Govindaraju and Subramani, 17 Subramani and Haridoss, 18 Balamurali et al 19,20 For variables inspection, one may refer to Balamurali and Jun, 21 Aslam et al 22 and Wu and Wang. 23 Nowadays, MDS sampling is also applied for designing the control charts (see, for example, Aslam et al 24,25 ).…”

“…On the other hand, a skip‐lot sampling plan is an application of continuous sampling to lots rather than to individual units of production, and switching rules can be applied for skipping lot inspection and normal inspection (Kenett and Zacks; Montgomery). Further studies on the MDS plan by attributes can be found in Vaerst, Soundararajan and Vijayaraghavan, and Govindarajua and Subramania . Balamurial and Jun further extended to variables inspection and derived the OC function of the variables MDS sampling plan for unilateral specification limits.…”
