Abstract

There are issues of value in social life. Communication is among these issues. Thanks to communication, social progress is made. There are elements that stand out at the point of communication. Greetings stand out as one of these elements. People greet a large number of greetings in their daily lives. This situation shows that greetings have an important position in people's lives. Starting from this point, a study on communication and greetings was conducted. The aim of this study is to explain the place and importance of greetings in communication. The method of this study is traditional compilation. As a result of the study, it was revealed that greetings have a significant place and importance in communication. Greeting is one of the most important steps in building a communication bridge. Taking this step can be beneficial in the development of relations between people. People can feel closer to each other through greetings. This situation can create various positive effects at the point of ensuring the spirit of unity and solidarity between people. In the light of this information, it is possible to argue that greetings are important both individually and socially. This study enriches and develops the literature of social sciences.
