Abstract-Massive increase in usage of World Wide Web makes it affective in every domain of life. Billions of people from different corners of world use internet for diverse purposes on daily bases. Quality acts as important key factor for web applications. Various methodologies have been proposed and many techniques have been deployed but, quality still lags behind. Our study infocuses a detailed survey based on methodologies, metrics and architecture that are used in modeling of web application. We carried out analysis and comparisons between techniques and evaluate major quality characteristics. Study at conclusion illustrates that beside functional requirements, non-functional requirements are also essential and acts as backbone for quality in web based applications.

Correlation-aware QoS modeling and manufacturing cloud service composition

Recently, cloud manufacturing has attracted much attention from both academic and industry communities. Manufacturing cloud service composition and optimization is critical to the optimal resources allocation in cloud manufacturing. Since there are many manufacturing cloud services available with similar functions but different quality of service (QoS), and with potential quality correlations among them, such correlations must to be considered for manufacturing cloud service composition. In this paper, a correlation-aware manufacturing cloud service description model is presented to characterize the QoS dependence of an individual service on other related services. Based on such a model, a service correlation mapping model is proposed for getting correlation QoS values among services automatically. In addition, an effective approach for the correlation-aware optimal service selection is proposed based on a genetic algorithm. A case study indicates that services composition of higher quality can be obtained when such correlations are considered. And the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed approach are demonstrated via simulation studies.

This paper introduces a service selection model with the service location considered. The location of a service represents its position in the network, which determines the transmission cost of calling this service in the composite service. The more concentrated the invoking services are, the less transmission time the composite service costs. On the other hand, the more and more popular big data processing services, which need to transfer mass data as input, make the effect much more obvious than ever before. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce service location as a basic feature in service selection. The definition and membership functions of service location are presented in this paper. After that, the optimal service selection problem is represented as an optimization problem under some reasonable assumptions. A shortest-path based algorithm is proposed to solve this optimization problem. At last, the case of railway detection is studied for better understanding of our model.
