Seed source variation for growth inEucalyptus dunnii;results from trials in south central China

Abstract: Two series of Eucalyptus dunnii field trials were established at two locations in the north of Guangxi province in south central China between 1988 and 1991 to examine growth performance and genetic variation of trees from I 0 natural seed sources. After four years, mean heights in the trials ranged up to 14.2 m and mean diameters at breast height up to 12.0 em. Significant differences between seed sources existed for height and diameter and there were significant seed source by environment interactions in hei… Show more

“…Visual evaluation of trees marked for removal suggested 31 trees from two provenances could be candidates to supply sawlogs for processing studies (other provenances could also have supplied logs, but due to limited resources it was decided to focus on just two). The provenances were 'State Forest 283, Flat along Teviot Brook, Qld' (28°10ʹS, 152°30ʹE) (Provenance 1) and 'Dead Horse Track, East of Legume, NSW' (28°25ʹS, 152°20ʹE) (Provenance 2-more details on the origins of these provenance seedlots have been provided by Wang et al (1999)). …”

“…O descongelamento pode ser realizado de maneira rápida ou lenta, sendo que há autores que afirmam que o descongelamento lento pode provocar danos menores às células comparado ao rápido uma vez que nas células vegetais a desplasmólise rápida pode levar à morte (WANG et al, 1999) e outros autores afirmam que quanto maior o tempo de descongelamento, melhor a preservação de suas características fisiológicas (MOLINA et al, 2006).…”
