“…Being augmented also by the eustatic lowstand, the extensional processes reached a peak by growth of the Urgonian carbonate platforms on submarine elevations during the Barremian-Aptian (e.g., Michalík & Soták, 1990). Mixed siliciclastic and bioclastic resediments with clasts of up to boulder size occurred also along the northern Tatric margin (Jablonský et al, 1993). This rifting pulse is related to the continental breakup and opening of the North Penninic Magura oceanic branch (see below).…”
