Security Improved Ad-Hoc on Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol (SIm AODV)

Abstract: One of the most wanted wireless networks is Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET). MANET can configure easily without using any facility which one is available at present as an infrastructure oriented wired or wireless network. It is one of the infrastructures less network consist of mobile devices. Individually each and every device in the Mobile ad hoc network will act as a router as well as node which provide the flexibility in the physical topology, optimal routing and data communication. In this paper, A Security … Show more

“…Although, this scheme is very effective against routing attacks, but the authentication is an energy consuming process. A forge packet based routing infrastructure, which is an enhanced version of the ad hoc on demand vector routing(AODV) scheme [22], [23], is presented to address the black-hole issue [24]. Fake route request RREQ messages, that is strongly correlated to the original messages, are transmitted to identify malicious nodes in WSNs.…”

“…AODV protocol is a combination of Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and DSDV protocol [5]. It is a distance vector routing protocol and is capable of both unicast and multicast routing [8]. It will maintain the routes only between the nodes which need to communicate.…”

“…For route discovery AODV is using Routing Request (RREQ), Routing Reply (RREP) Packets [1]. The RREQ packet containing the source node IP address, source node current sequence number, the destination node sequence number and broadcast ID [1] [8]. The advantage of AODV is that it creates no extra traffic for communication along the existing link but requires more time to establish a connection.…”

“…In such networks nodes mobility plays the main role to find the availability of any routes. The topology of such networks cannot be locked and generally modify many times [6]. Due to such nature, ad hoc network has limitations e.g energy utilization, small bandwidth and narrow channel size [7].…”
