Security-Constrained Day-Ahead Operational Planning for Flexible Hybrid AC/DC Distribution Networks

Abstract: A new active network management framework is presented based on a multi-period optimal power flow problem that is bounded by security constraints at the distribution level for upholding the security of supply. This can be achieved through active engagement with flexible demand and distributed generation to prepare for contingency events in day-ahead operational planning. This framework is coupled with a flexible hybrid AC/DC medium voltage (MV) distribution network topology. It contains an integrated multi-ter… Show more

“…In order to illustrate the effectiveness of the model, two kinds of maintenance scheduling preparation schemes were designed [33]. Solution A artificially drew up the maintenance scheduling based on the information of the line in Tables 1 and 2, which refers to the Qinghai Power Grid electrical equipment maintenance scheduling and the Henan Luoyang Power Supply Company's daily maintenance scheduling.…”

“…Arranging one maintenance team to each maintenance line is the lowest cost method that can maximally meet the constraints of maintenance cost. In order to illustrate the effectiveness of the model, two kinds of maintenance scheduling preparation schemes were designed [33]. Solution A artificially drew up the maintenance scheduling based on the information of the line in Tables 1 and 2 It can be seen from Figures 3 and 4 that the maintenance scheduling of the overhead transmission lines and transformers were arranged throughout the maintenance period.…”
