The united general growth strategy for all EU Member States, a common economic and political vision as well as location in the same geographic region provides a necessary basis for the benchmarking modelling of economies. The main objective of this study is determination of the functional regularities and drivers of the growth of EU economies and the context of the Baltic States in line with the general trend of the EU, as well as development of the growth model, which can be used for sustainable planning and prediction. Analysis of several regularly published analytical indexes suggests a thesis on innovation as the real basic driving force for EU economies and outlines Innovation Performance Index, which have a very strong compliance with the economic growth of particular country. At the same time study of the data set and methodology of the Index indicates space for further optimization. By use of several linear regression tools the growth model was created. It is based on three hard independent statistical indicators (predictors) only; of course, these indicators is a peak of a complex pyramid. Despite of the simplicity of the model, the long-term correlation of fitted values with the real GDP per capita is extremely strong 0.961-0.987).

The aim of the article is to analyze the level of security within Polish society using data on crime rates collected from the Local Data Bank of the Polish Central Statistical Office. The data were collected for the 2017 year for individual provinces of Poland. In the second part of the article the model of progressive stepwise regression was constructed for the overall crime rate, where the independent variables were: the criminal crime rate per 1000 residents, the rate of economic crimes per 1000 residents, the road crimes' rate per 1000 residents, the crime rate against life and health per 1000 residents, the property crime rate per 1000 residents and the rate of crimes against freedom, freedom of conscience and religion, sexual freedom and morals per 1000 residents, the rate of crimes against family and care per 1000 residents. Further analysis has been carried out to determine the relationship between the crime rates and the selected economic measures, i.e., unemployment rates, GDP per capita and investment expenditures per capita. The results were obtained using the Statistica 12 program. It was concluded that the indicators affecting the overall crime rates were: the criminal crime rate per 1000 residents and the rate of economic crimes per 1000 residents. Correlation obtained for the variables under investigation shows that a statistically significant relationship was obtained only in the case of two variables-the overall crime rate and the capital expenditures per capita.

Tourism is becoming a key element in the development of the economy of states and regions. Well developed tourism infrastructure is an important determinant of tourism business that can provide a wide range of competitive tourist services, and use the tourist and recreational potential of municipalities and regions without damaging the environment. One of the functions of tourism infrastructure is to build up suffi cient material, technical, resource and other conditions for the men's recovery and recreation as well as to meet the needs of the local population in tourism and recreation. Development and improvement of tourism infrastructure, including its all structural elements (accommodation infrastructure, food infrastructure, leisure and recreation infrastructure, infrastructure of tourist services) contributes to the competitiveness of municipalities on the market of tourism services while attracting and retaining human capital. The objective of the research, the results of which are set forth in this article, addresses the development of a toolkit for assessing the development of municipal tourism infrastructure for diagnosing the territorial development imbalances in the context of municipalities. The work is based on the analysis of the Russian and foreign research literature on the problem under review. The outcomes of the research have scientifi c and practical signifi cance for scholars who research the issues of the development of regional tourism, public administrations, regional authorities, as well as for representatives of tourism business.
