Spin precession equations including the spin-orbit (SO), spin-spin (SS), quadrupole-monopole (QM) and magnetic dipole-magnetic dipole (DD) leading-order interactions are derived for compact binary systems in order to investigate the DD contribution in the orbit-averaged spin precession equations for binary neutron star systems neglecting the gravitational radiation-reaction effect. It is known that the magnitudes of spins are not conserved quantities due to the DD interaction. We give a simple analytical description for the pure DD interaction making the magnitudes of spins almost constant by neglecting the SO, SS and QM contributions. We also demonstrate the evolutions of the relative angles of spins and magnetic dipoles with the help of numeric simulations including all contributions (SO, SS, QM and DD) and introduce a dimensionless magnetic dipole parameter to characterize the strength of magnetic fields for some realistic neutron star binaries. We find that for realistic configurations the strong magnetic fields of neutron stars can modify the spin dynamics over long periods of time.

A gravitációs hullámok kutatásában kiemelt szerepe van a kompakt objektumok által alkotott kettős rendszereknek, mivel az általuk kibocsátott, és a földfelszíni detektorokban érzékelhető jelalakjuk széles paramétertartományban nagy pontossággal leírható. Munkánk során a mozgás leírásában igyekeztünk minden releváns effektust figyelembe venni, kiemelten kezelve a pálya excentricitását és a testek forgásának hatásait. A korábbi kutatásainkban a mozgást leíró szögmennyiségeket a lehető legegyszerűbben fejtettük sorba az alkalmazott poszt-newtoni közelítésben, ez azonban divergens járulékokhoz vezetett. Ennek megoldására egy összetettebb (amplitúdó és frekvencia) sorfejtést alkalmazunk, viszont ehhez ki kell fejeznünk a releváns vektor-mennyiségeket a választott szögmennyiségekkel, és származtatni kell a mozgásegyenleteket. Célkitűzés továbbá a korábbi, alapanyagként használt publikációk hibáinak feltárása, javítása.

A gravitációs hullámok első közvetlen detektálása után a kihívás az, hogy a detektorok segítségével minél pontosabb képet kapjunk az ezen hullámokon keresztül megfigyelhető jelenségekről, vagyis megszülessen a gravitációshullám-csillagászat. Ebben kiemelt szerepe van a kompakt objektumok által alkotott kettős rendszereknek, mivel az általuk kibocsátott hullámok széles paramétertartományban nagy pontossággal leírhatók. Ehhez azonban szükségünk van a kettős rendszer mozgásának leírására. Ezt a poszt-newtoni sorfejtés alkalmazásával tesszük meg, figyelembe véve a pálya excentricitásának és a testek forgásának hatásait. A korábbi munkák tisztázzák a szeparációs vektor nagysága változásának részleteit, azonban a kibocsátott gravitációs hullámok leírásához szükségünk van a vektor-irányokat jellemző szögmennyiségek dinamikájának leírására is. Az ehhez szükséges egyenletek kerülnek jelen cikkben származtatásra, illetve részletezésre kerül ezek megoldásának módszerei. Célkitűzés továbbá a korábbi, alapanyagként használt publikációk hibáinak feltárása, javítása.
