Enterprise architecture (EA) plays a crucial role in organizations by providing a clear strategy for digital transformation and seamless information flow across boundaries. It is a tool for achieving current and future objectives effectively. By providing a comprehensive view, EA helps organizations build suitable and sustainable software solutions while avoiding complex challenges caused by unmanageable information flow blockages. Moreover, EA provides a standard framework for implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Although EA and ERP systems have different concepts, they possess complementary characteristics that support decision-makers in the ERP selection process, which can be quite risky due to cost feasibility, time consumption, and team effort. This study proposes using the EA concept as a reference module for selecting the most suitable integrated solution for the higher education sector. The aim is to provide high-impact criteria for choosing the most appropriate ERP system as a core solution. Additionally, EA supports other related solutions integrated with the ERP system under the EA umbrella to run a fully automated smart entity. To determine the most suitable ERP solution for higher education entities in the study country, a set of critical criteria for ERP selection as a core solution in the education sector is generated through brainstorming, which is based on an EA reference module specifically designed for higher education entities that seek to operate smartly. A comparison technique is employed to evaluate the highlighted criteria, including a case study for ABC University. The study’s results reveal that fully integrated and sustainable solutions can be envisioned for higher education entities, which can support the digital transformation of the higher education sector based on a smart EA reference module along with a set of critical main ERP selection criteria. This can mitigate the risk associated with ERP selection as a core solution and support decision-makers in selecting the most suitable ERP package for educational entities.

The purpose of this research is to achieve the following objectives: 1) Synthesize documents and international research on the characteristics of a smart university. 2) Synthesize the processes of distributed communicative language training (DCLT). 3) Design the system architecture of a DCLT platform that utilizes automatic speech recognition (ASR) technology for a smart university. 4) Evaluate the appropriateness of a DCLT platform that utilizes ASR technology for a smart university. Nine experts were selected for this research. They were required to have more than five years of relevant experience in the field, including expertise in system architecture, distributed enterprise, language teaching, and ASR. The research instruments included a suitable assessment form for evaluating the system architecture of a DCLT platform that utilizes ASR technology for a smart university. The results of this research indicate that the DCLT platform, which utilizes ASR technology, was considered suitable for a smart university.

A Smart University serves as a crucial component in enabling the implementation of intelligent systems and driving innovation. Many international universities have taken the lead in initiating Smart University projects to align with the ever-changing educational landscape. Thailand is actively dedicated to pursuing a transformative agenda that is consistent with the 20-year national strategy (2018-2037) with the aim of promoting sustainable development. This study aims to examine the performance of the Wi-Fi network at Mahasarakham University in Thailand, with the objective of identifying factors that influence the delivery of network services, user satisfaction and network coverage. The findings will provide valuable information to enhance the system. The study focuses on assessing user behaviors related to network usage and evaluating user satisfaction across three dimensions. Wi-Fi network service, security system and service venue/facilities. In addition, the NetSpot software tool is used to measure the extent of Wi-Fi signal coverage. The research seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of the university's Wi-Fi network in supporting the transition towards a Smart University. The study's target population consists of students, professors and staff members at Mahasarakham University during the academic year 2022, which is a total of 45,426 individuals. The findings will provide valuable guidance to university management, enabling them to plan, analyze and design an efficient and effective smart IT infrastructure to facilitate the development of students, faculty and university staff toward a Smart University.
