Seasonal Variations in Physico-Chemical Parameters of Manakudy Estuary, Southwest Coast of India

Abstract:The present study was carried out to determine the seasonal variations in physico-chemical characteristics of water in Manakudy estuary Southwest coast of India, from June 2020 to May 2022. The study revealed that the physico-chemical parameters like temperature, hydrogen ion concentration, salinity, dissolved oxygen, nutrients like nitrate, nitrite, ammonia and total phosphorous exhibited considerable seasonal and spatial variations. The study showed that the Manakudy estuary is in a good state of health.
