Abstract:SLC4A1 protein or band 3 protein (band 3) is one of the most common erythrocyte membrane proteins. Along with the function of the anion exchanger, it contributes to the control of cell shape and lifespan through the formation of various complexes with cytoskeletal components and enzymes.
