“…Our focus on comparing outcomes across 2 time periods—before and after widespread adoption of ICIs—mitigates concerns about patient-level confounding, as patient characteristics, such as comorbidity or performance status, are unlikely to change over such a short period . Fourth, it is important to note that approximately 50% of cases of advanced NSCLC express more than 1% PD-L1, and PD-L1 expression is associated with greater benefit from ICIs . Regular testing of PD-L1 expression started only partway through the study period and was therefore not included as a variable here.…”

“…In this case, the searches for visible and invisible Higgs bosons can be combined, and the excluded region in the (BR inv , m H ) plane is determined assuming SM production cross-sections. Using the DELPHI limits on the visible cross-section [17] a lower mass limit of 76.1 GeV/c 2 is found, independent of the fraction of invisible decays, as is apparent from figure 6b. In computing these limits, the overlap between the Standard Model Hν ν and the invisible Higgs boson hadronic selections have been resolved, by using only one at the time: the invisible hadronic mode in the region BR inv > 50%, and Hν ν in the region BR inv < 50%.…”

“…The event topology of the signal channel resembles the Hν ν channel analysed in [17], therefore similar event variables were used, except that no beauty flavour signature was required. The main kinematic variables are the estimated energy of a photon radiated in the beam direction E γ (normalized to the expected energy of a photon recoiling against a real Z), the total visible energy E vis , the thrust value in the rest system T r and the scaled acoplanarity log 10 θ acop .…”

“…The analysis of events with the Higgs produced in association with two electrons in DELPHI begins with the following preselection [47]. First, events with two oppositely charged electron candidates are identified.…”

“…To accept taus, events with exactly two jets, where both jets have three or fewer charged tracks and masses below 2 GeV/c 2 , are accepted [46]. For events not passing this selection for two taus, the event must have at least eight charged tracks, and the jet with the second highest energy must have at least two charged particles [47].…”
