“…The results obtained on WLM in this work can be discussed in light of recent H.E.S.S. results obtained on ultrafaint dwarf spheroidal galaxies [12]. The latter have a higher total J factor with log 10 ðJ=GeV 2 cm −5 srÞ from 18.7 to 19.6.…”

“…In this article, we present an analysis of the γ-ray events observed in the direction of the irregular galaxy WLM. This new search complements the studies carried out for DM from dwarf spheroidal galaxies [10][11][12] and from the galactic center [13,14]. Compared to dwarf irregular galaxies, dwarf spheroidal galaxies have larger J factors, but the knowledge on J is limited by the number of spectroscopic measurements of individual stars.…”

“…Other compelling and complementary targets for the search of DM annihilation signals that have been recently observed by H.E.S.S. are unidentified Fermi-LAT objects (UFOs) [32] as source candidates for DM subhalos populating the main Galactic Halo, ultra-faint dwarf galaxy satellites of the Milky Way recently detected by the Dark Energy Survey (DES) [34], and the dwarf irregular galaxy WLM [33]. We report here on the first results of a new search for DM annihilation signals from the GC region.…”

“…If they exist, they are also expected to self-annihilate into detectable Standard Model (SM) particles, including high-energy photons. Such indirect searches are conducted, for instance, by H.E.S.S., MAGIC and VERITAS Cherenkov telescopes looking at dense astronomical objects like the dwarf spheroidal satellite galaxies of the Milky Way [4]. These searches are sensitive to WIMPs in the TeV/c 2 mass range.…”
