“…in data with an integrated luminosity of 2:7 fb À1 collected with the CDF II detector, nearly 3 times that of the previously reported analysis [5,6]. The study of Higgs boson production in association with a W=Z gauge boson for low Higgs boson masses is further motivated by the fact that the signal to background ratio is more favorable at the Tevatron compared to the Large Hadron Collider.…”

“…Associated production cross section is 0.2-0.5 pb in the low mass range, but the presence of an extra vector boson from the Higgs associated production helps to reduce backgrounds. Therefore, H → bb searches at Tevatron exploit the associated production of the Higgs boson, with the W [42,43] or Z [44,45,46,47] boson decaying leptonically to increase the expected signal to background ratio. The three main final state, lνbb, ννbb and l + l − bb exhibit distinctive signatures: energetic leptons and/or undetected energy due to ν's.…”

“…The searches for ZH → ννbb and ZH → τ + τ − bb are treated elsewhere [8,9]. For the ℓ + ℓ − bb final states, the D0 collaboration has previously used 0.45 fb −1 of integrated luminosity to report a cross section upper limit at the 95% CL that was around 25 times larger than the SM prediction at M H = 115 GeV [10], and the CDF collaboration used 2.7 fb −1 to obtain a factor of around 8 [11]. The data for this analysis were collected at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider with the D0 detector [12].…”
