Highly dynamic environments like clouds by nature cause a high degree of unpredictability of resource utilization and performance. Failures, latencies and heterogeneity should always be the main concern for affecting the scheduling decisions in distributed infrastructures. As a result, the scheduling efficiency of jobs before their submission is very difficult to be achieved or either forecasted. Even in the cases of the most complex schedulers a comprehensive dynamic view cannot always be predicted. Thus, the rescheduling concept takes advantage of the current scheduling status and performs a dynamic scheduling decision. In this paper we present a discussion of the virtual machine migration strategies that are currently available in distributed systems based on the need of migrating virtualized resources in order to achieve better resource utilization and performance such as improve load balancing, makespan and higher throughput of jobs. We conclude our study with a critical discussion of vital requirements for virtual machine migration.

This paper focuses on the development of new storage model by using cloud computing for mobile devises. The concept of cloud computing has been applied to mobile devices for improving the existing model (battery time and data saving) of mobile devices. In the recent eras, different types of cloud computing techniques have been used for improving the efficiency of mobile devices. The paper has combined the calibration and current launch amount characteristics with the trial results for drop in battery voltage. A mathematical equation has been derived for mote operation scenario. Through this equation, the power provide by the power supply as well as the average time of battery can be measured.

Abstract-In this paper, we describe a whole-system live migration scheme, which transfers the whole system run-time state, including CPU state, memory data, and local disk storage, of the virtual machine (VM). To minimize the downtime caused by migrating large disk storage data and keep data integrity and consistency, we propose a three-phase migration (TPM) algorithm. To facilitate the migration back to initial source machine, we use an incremental migration (IM) algorithm to reduce the amount of the data to be migrated. Block-bitmap is used to track all the write accesses to the local disk storage during the migration. Synchronization of the local disk storage in the migration is performed according to the block-bitmap. Experiments show that our algorithms work well even when I/Ointensive workloads are running in the migrated VM. The downtime of the migration is around 100 milliseconds, close to shared-storage migration. Total migration time is greatly reduced using IM. The block-bitmap based synchronization mechanism is simple and effective. Performance overhead of recording all the writes on migrated VM is very low.
