Sealed nitrogen laser with 10 kHz pulse repetition frequency

Abstract: B y incorporating capillaries with long-fared ends in otherwise conventional U-tube or suspended-level viscometers, it is possible to produce instruments in which no significant kinetic energy effect occurs for the Reynolds numbers generally encountered in viscometry. A detailed experimental study of their behaviour has been made. Using the new viscometers a viscosity scale in absolute units can be established with greater accuracy and greater facility than has hitherto been possible.
