Abstract:
Aim
Scrotal bruises are quite frequent injuries affecting young subjects, with psychological repercussions on body image and fertility. The interest of ultrasound in the context of the emergency remains controversial. “…Preservation of the tunica albuginea plays a crucial role in the management of testicular trauma. Testicular rupture is defined as disruption of the tunica albuginea, and surgical intervention is usually recommended in these cases [ 61 64 ]. The tunica albuginea is normally visualized as a smooth echogenic line on ultrasonography, and its disruption indicates testicular rupture [ 1 , 59 , 61 , 64 , 65 ].…”

“…They cause progressive, often painless scrotal enlargement [ 120 , 122 ]. However, in some cases, the tunica albuginea may rupture, causing intraparenchymal hemorrhage and a rapid increase in scrotal size [ 123 ], and edema and pain may develop quickly in the scrotal area, often resulting from inflammation rather than being directly caused by the tumor [ 76 ].…”
