Screening and Molecular Identification of Phosphate-Solubilizing Rhizobacteria from Mangrove Ecosystem of the Lombok Island

Abstract: Phosphate solubilizing rhizobacteria can be used as a component in biofertilizer formulations to increase local and national food production without causing adverse risks to the environment compared to the use of chemical fertilizers. In this regard, screening and identification of phosphate solubilizing bacteria from the rhizosphere of several mangrove species that grow on the coast of Lombok Island has been carried out. The method of isolation used is the Pikovskaya method. Screening and identification activ… Show more

“…The beneficial effects of rhizobacteria vary depending on their ability to stimulate plant growth or suppress the growth of pathogens directly [2][3][4][5]. The role of rhizobacteria as PGPR is generally related to their ability to produce growth hormone [6,7], nitrogen fixation [8], or dissolve phosphate [9,10]. Meanwhile, the role of rhizobacteria as pathogenic antagonist agents is IOP Publishing doi:10.1088/1755-1315/977/1/012044 2 related to their ability to produce antibiotic compounds, siderophores, hydrogen cyanide (HCN), and secrete extracellular enzymes [11][12][13][14][15].…”
