Abstract: Pesq. Vet. Bras. 32(12):1230-1238, dezembro 2012 1230 RESUMO.-Scrapie é uma doença infecciosa, neurodegenerativa fatal, causada pelo príon scrapie (PrP sc ). Apresenta-se tanto na forma clássica em ovinos e caprinos geneticamente susceptíveis quanto na forma atípica em ovinos. “…Importantly, only one animal in this outbreak, had characteristic lesions in the obex. This intensity is uncommon, as usually the animals have very characteristic and evident neuronal or neuropil vacuolization in the obex in outbreaks, as observed in some studies in Brazil (MARTINS et al, 2012;ANDRADE et al, 2015).
