VA nursing home compare metrics as an indicator of skilled nursing facility quality for veterans

Abstract: Background The Veterans Administration (VA) provides several post‐acute care (PAC) options for Veterans, including VA‐owned nursing homes (called Community Living Centers, CLCs). “…For this analysis, the cohort was restricted from 2016 to coincide with the introduction of quality ratings for VA nursing homes. 25 Sixth, we assessed for the presence of effect modification among patients with dementia, systolic blood pressure (<140, ≥140 mm Hg) and diastolic blood pressure (<80, ≥80 mm Hg), age (<80, ≥80 years), and baseline use of antihypertensive medication (0, >0). For all subgroup analyses, the PSs were re-estimated and the cohorts were rematched.…”

For this analysis, the cohort was restricted from 2016 to coincide with the introduction of quality ratings for VA nursing homes . Sixth, we assessed for the presence of effect modification among patients with dementia, systolic blood pressure (<140, ≥140 mm Hg) and diastolic blood pressure (<80, ≥80 mm Hg), age (<80, ≥80 years), and baseline use of antihypertensive medication (0, >0).…”
