S idney, R obert, Earl of L eicester

Abstract: Robert Sidney (1563–1626), better known as the brother and father of famous poets than for his own poetry, led (albeit on a less outsized scale) the life of courtier, soldier, diplomat, and patron of the arts that his brother Philip proposed and left unfinished.
