PDA@Ti3C2Tx as a novel carrier for pesticide delivery and its application in plant protection: NIR‐responsive controlled release and sustained antipest activity

Abstract: BACKGROUND Stimuli‐responsive pesticide controlled release system provides a new strategy for the development of high‐efficiency pesticides formulation. RESULTS In this article, we report a novel polydopamine surface modified MXene‐Ti3C2Tx nanocarrier for pesticide delivery and plant protection. Polydopamine modified Ti3C2Tx (PDA@Ti3C2Tx) nanocarrier was prepared by biomimetic self‐polymerization of dopamine on the surface of Ti3C2Tx. A typical pesticide, emamectin benzoate (EB), was loaded on PDA@Ti3C2Tx thro… Show more

“…The high-resolution XPS spectrum of O 1s can be divided into four distinct peaks in Figure 3 c, with binding energies of 532.7 eV, 531.1 eV, 530.2 eV, and 529.8 eV. The four peaks corresponded to the presence of C-O, C-Ti-(OH) x , Zn-O, and Ti-O, respectively [ 35 , 36 , 37 ]. The high-resolution XPS spectrum of Zn 2p shown in Figure 3 d displayed two fitted peaks at 1044.2 eV and 1021.1 eV, which were assigned to Zn 2p 1/2 and Zn 2p 3/2 , respectively.…”

“…For determination of the loading amount, the prepared GO–pesticide nanocomposites were dissolved in deionized water. The pesticide loading content (LC) was obtained with the following equation: 28 LC (%) = W pesticide / W GO × 100, where W pesticide is the weight of pesticide loaded on GO (μg), and W GO is the weight of GO (μg).…”

“…20 Recently, Song and colleagues developed a multifunctional MXene-based PDS for pest control and plant protection application. 21,22 The MXenebased PDS showed stimuli-responsive controlled pesticide release and improved antipest activity, significantly improving the utilization of pesticides. 21,22 In addition, the industrial production of MXenes is in progress, and once large-scale preparation of MXenes is realized with stable quality, their downstream applications will be fully guaranteed.…”
