D-Arabitol production by Endomycopsis burtonii in sugarcane juice media

Abstract: Various sugarcane juice media were tested for the production of D-arabitol by Endomycopsis burtonii. The influence of magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and nitrogen concentration in sugarcane juice media upon D-arabitol production was studied. Concentration of phosphorus previously suggested for good production of D-arabitol in synthetic medium by E. burtonii, decreased polyol production by this microorganism on sugarcane juice media, under the conditions of this work.
