Scolytinae y Platypodinae (Coleoptera: Curculiondae) de Tabasco, México

Abstract: RESUMEN. Show more

“…2). Results also agree with those of Falcón et al (2018) who recommended ethanol to monitor borer and ambrosia beetles. The treatments did not significantly attract C. detrimentosus ( P = 0.2562), a species collected in traps baited with ethanol (Atkinson 2022).…”

“…However, Wood (1982), Miller and Rabaglia (2009), and Ranger et al (2010) reported the best attractant for Scolytines was ethanol recommended especially for traps. Similar results were reported by Equihua (1988, 1992), Falcón et al (2018), and Estrada et al (2021) who used it to monitor Scolytine. The attraction effect for combination of commercial attractants corresponds to the synergic effect reported by Kendra et al (2018) and Owens et al (2019).…”

“…Gerónimo-Torres et al (2015) reported very few individuals in the mangrove ecosystem in Tabasco. Similarly, Falcón-Brindis et al (2018) reported few individuals of H. interstitialis in tropical rainforests of Tabasco; however, its abundance increased in disturbed areas such as grasslands and forest crops that are likely advantageous for generalist insects (Falcón-Brindis et al, 2018). This beetle has been reported in Campeche in secondary tropical semideciduous forests in several plant families, being avocado the only Lauraceae (Estrada & Atkinson, 1988).…”
